The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME U444LFA is a lead-free push-fit reducing tee designed for fast, tool-free connections in potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Constructed of DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, this fitting measures 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch by 3/4 inch and ships in a package of 6. It is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both hot and cold water applications. An integral tube liner is included for use with PEX tubing, eliminating the need for a separate insert. Licensed plumbers and journeymen installers use this fitting in residential and light commercial rough-in and service work.
The U444LFA is compatible with copper tubing, CPVC, and PEX pipe. Its push-fit design allows for quick installation in tight spaces without soldering, crimping, or special tooling. The fitting is certified for underground applications as a manufactured joint and does not require an access panel when buried. This makes it a practical choice for slab work, underground service runs, and concealed-wall installations where future access is limited or impractical.
Designed for use with copper tubing, CPVC, and PEX pipe. Compatible with potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Meets UPC, IPC, and CUPC requirements.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting in the fitting. Ensure all pipe ends are cut cleanly and squarely and are deburred and clean before insertion — debris on the pipe OD can damage the internal seal. Verify pipe diameter and type compatibility before pushing the fitting into place; release clips or a disconnect tool are required to remove the fitting after installation.
