The SharkBite U4256LFA is a 3/4-inch push-to-connect brass 90-degree elbow fitting designed specifically to transition from polybutylene (PB) pipe into copper, CPVC, or PEX pipe in any combination. No soldering, clamps, unions, or glue are required. Stainless steel teeth grip the pipe on insertion while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to form a watertight seal. The fitting can be rotated after assembly to ease installation in confined spaces, and it can be disconnected and reused with a standard SharkBite disconnect clip or tool. Sold in a pack of 6. Certified for potable water supply and hydronic heating applications.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing wherever polybutylene supply lines are being repaired or upgraded. Typical scenarios include re-piping sections of older PB systems that have developed leaks, transitioning to copper or PEX at fixtures, shutoff valves, or manifolds, and making 90-degree directional changes without soldering or crimping tools. The push-to-connect mechanism makes it accessible to licensed plumbers and experienced service techs working in tight utility spaces, crawlspaces, and wall cavities where torch work is impractical or restricted.
Designed as a polybutylene conversion fitting compatible with 3/4-inch polybutylene, copper, CPVC, and PEX pipe in any port combination. Suitable for potable water supply systems and hydronic heating systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any line. Ensure pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and fully inserted to the depth mark before the fitting locks. Use the appropriate SharkBite disconnect clip to release the fitting without damaging the pipe or fitting body.
