The SharkBite U3088FLEX18LF is a lead-free, braided stainless steel water heater connector designed for residential and light commercial plumbing installations. It features a 3/4-inch female iron pipe (FIP) inlet and measures 18 inches in overall length. The connector is constructed of DZR brass with an integral tube liner and push-fit ends, allowing tool-free connections to copper, CPVC, and PEX tubing without soldering, clamps, or unions. Rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, it meets the pressure and temperature demands of standard water heater service. Licensed plumbers and plumbing contractors are the primary installers.
This connector is suited for connecting water heaters to supply lines in residential and light commercial applications. The 18-inch flexible braided body accommodates minor misalignment between the heater and the supply stub-out. The push-fit end accepts copper tube size connections in copper, CPVC, and PEX, with the integral tube liner included for PEX and CPVC applications. It is certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems, and is also certified for underground applications as a manufactured joint without the need for an access panel.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or UPC code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before disconnecting any existing fittings. When connecting to PEX or CPVC, confirm the integral tube liner is properly seated inside the tubing end before pushing to full insertion depth. Do not over-bend the braided flex body; maintain the manufacturer-intended sweep to avoid stress at the end connections.
