The SHARKBITE U142LFA is a push-fit reducing connector designed to join 1-inch CTS pipe to a 3/4-inch male iron pipe (MIP) thread. Constructed of dezincification-resistant (DZR) brass, this lead-free fitting meets federal lead-free law 111-380 and is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F. An integral tube liner is included for use with PEX tubing. The push-fit design allows tool-free installation without soldering, threading, or gluing, making it a practical choice for licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on water distribution systems.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial potable water and hydronic distribution systems. It accepts copper tubing CTS, CPVC, and PEX with the included tube liner. The fitting is certified for underground applications as a manufactured joint, eliminating the need for an access panel in qualifying installations. It is sold in a package of 3 fittings.
Compatible with copper tubing CTS, CPVC, and PEX pipe on the 1-inch push-fit end. The 3/4-inch male iron pipe thread end connects to standard female NPT fittings and fixtures. Certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems per IAPMO listing.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers following local plumbing code requirements including IPC, UPC, and CUPC where applicable. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or removing the fitting. Ensure pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and clean to the depth mark before insertion. For PEX applications, confirm the integral tube liner is properly seated inside the pipe end before pushing to full depth.
