The SHARKBITE U120LFA is a lead-free, push-fit straight connector designed for fast, tool-free connections in potable and hydronic water distribution systems. It features a 1/2 inch push-fit inlet and a 1/2 inch male iron pipe (MIP) threaded outlet, constructed from dezincification-resistant (DZR) brass for long service life in demanding plumbing environments. An integral tube liner is included, eliminating the need for a separate insert when working with PEX tubing. Rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, this fitting meets the pressure and temperature demands of residential and light commercial plumbing installations. Licensed plumbers and journeyman pipefitters are the primary installers.
The U120LFA is suited for residential and light commercial water distribution applications where copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, or PEX pipe transitions to a male threaded connection point. Its push-fit design makes it particularly useful in tight spaces or retrofit situations where soldering or crimping is not practical. It is certified for underground installation as a manufactured joint, removing the requirement for access panels at buried connection points. Each fitting ships bagged in packages of 24 units.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe. Certified for potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Listed with IAPMO and certified to ASSE 1061 and NSF 61 standards. Meets UPC, IPC, and CUPC requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local IPC or UPC code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making or breaking any connections. Ensure pipe ends are cut cleanly and squarely, deburred, and wiped clean before inserting into the push-fit socket. When used with PEX, confirm the integral tube liner is fully seated before insertion.
