The SHARKBITE U116LFA is a lead-free, push-fit reducing connector designed to transition from a 1/2-inch CTS pipe to a 3/4-inch male iron pipe (MIP) thread. Constructed from DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, this fitting delivers reliable performance in potable and hydronic water distribution systems. It is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of residential and light commercial plumbing applications. The push-fit end accepts copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX, with an integral tube liner included for PEX installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This connector is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems where a push-fit CTS connection needs to transition to a threaded male iron pipe fitting. Typical scenarios include connecting supply lines to valves, fixtures, or manifolds where pipe size reduction is required. The push-fit design eliminates the need for soldering, crimping, or gluing at the CTS end, speeding up installation time in tight spaces or retrofit work. This fitting ships in packages of 6 units.
Compatible with copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe on the push-fit end. Certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Listed with IAPMO and meets UPC, IPC, and CUPC requirements. Design certified to ASSE 1061 and NSF 61 standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local codes, IPC, or UPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installation. Ensure pipe ends are cut cleanly and squarely, deburred, and free of debris before inserting into the push-fit end. The MIP threaded end requires appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape applied per standard plumbing practice.
