The SharkBite U072LFA is a lead-free, push-fit connector designed for fast, tool-free connections between 1/2-inch push-fit and 1/2-inch Female Iron Pipe (FIP) threads. Constructed from DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, it handles system pressures up to 200 psi and temperatures up to 200 degrees F. An integral tube liner is included, making it compatible with multiple pipe types without additional prep tools. This fitting is packaged in a bag of 24 units and is installed by licensed plumbers in residential and light commercial potable and hydronic water systems.
The U072LFA is suited for new construction and retrofit plumbing applications where a push-fit to FIP transition is needed. It works with copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe, making it a versatile transition fitting across common pipe materials. Certified for underground use as a manufactured joint, it does not require an access panel after installation. It is appropriate for both potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems.
Compatible with 1/2-inch copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe. Certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Listed with IAPMO and meets UPC, IPC, and CUPC requirements. Design certified to ASSE 1061 and NSF 61 standards.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes, including IPC and UPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making or breaking any connection. Pipe ends must be cut cleanly and squarely and deburred before inserting into the push-fit end; a properly seated fitting requires firm insertion to the depth mark. To disconnect a SharkBite push-fit fitting, use the manufacturer-specified disconnect clip or tool — do not attempt to pull the fitting free while the system is under pressure.
