The SHARKBITE u072lf is a lead-free, push-fit female NPT (FNPT) connector designed for fast, tool-free pipe connections in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. The fitting accepts a 1/2-inch pipe on the push-fit end and transitions to a 1/2-inch FNPT threaded connection on the other. Internal stainless steel teeth grip the pipe on insertion, while a specially formulated O-ring compresses to form a watertight seal. No soldering, crimping, clamps, or glue required. The connector is reusable and can be rotated after assembly, which is useful when working in confined spaces. Licensed plumbers and qualified trades install this fitting during new construction, remodel, and repair work.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a push-fit pipe end meets a threaded female port. Typical applications include connecting copper, CPVC, or PEX supply lines to threaded valves, fixtures, or transition fittings. The push-fit end accepts all three pipe types in any combination, making it a practical choice for mixed-material repairs or system extensions. A disconnect tool allows fast removal and reuse of the fitting without damage to the fitting body.
Designed as an OEM-style push-fit replacement connector compatible with 1/2-inch copper, CPVC, or PEX pipe on the push-fit end, with a 1/2-inch FNPT threaded port for connection to standard threaded fittings and valves.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified trades. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or removing any fitting. Cut pipe ends square and deburr thoroughly before insertion — a clean, square cut is required for the stainless steel teeth and O-ring to seat correctly. Use a SharkBite disconnect clip or disconnect tool for removal; do not attempt to pry or force the fitting off the pipe by other means.
