The SHARKBITE U066LFA is a lead-free push-fit reducing connector designed to join 1/4-inch tubing to a 1/2-inch Female Iron Pipe (FIP) threaded port. Constructed from DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, this fitting is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both potable water and hydronic distribution systems. The push-fit design eliminates the need for soldering, crimping, or threading on the tubing side, and an integral tube liner is included to support PEX connections. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
The U066LFA is compatible with copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe on the push-fit end. It is certified for underground installations as a manufactured joint without requiring access panels. The fitting is listed with IAPMO and carries NSF 61 and ASSE 1061 certification, meeting UPC, IPC, and CUPC code requirements. It is sold in a package of 12 and arrives bagged for jobsite organization. Typical use cases include reducing transitions at fixture supply connections, manifold branches, and retrofit plumbing repairs where a threaded female port meets smaller-diameter tubing.
Compatible with copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX on the push-fit end. Certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Listed with IAPMO and meets UPC, IPC, and CUPC requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or UPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making any connections. Ensure tubing is cut cleanly and squarely and deburred before insertion into the push-fit end. When connecting PEX, confirm the integral tube liner is properly seated inside the tubing end prior to pushing into the fitting.
