The SHARKBITE U020LFA is a 1-inch by 1-inch lead-free push-fit coupling designed for fast, tool-free connections in potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Constructed of DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, this fitting delivers lasting corrosion resistance in both above-ground and underground applications. It is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of residential and light commercial plumbing conditions. The push-fit mechanism requires no soldering, crimping, or gluing, which reduces installation time significantly. Each fitting includes an integral tube liner for use with PEX tubing. This package contains 6 fittings per bag.
The U020LFA is designed for use with copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe in 1-inch diameter. It is commonly installed in residential and commercial water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, and potable water distribution piping. Certified for underground applications as a manufactured joint, this fitting does not require access panels, making it a practical choice for below-slab or in-wall runs. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers, though it is also used by qualified contractors on tenant improvement and service work.
Compatible with 1-inch copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe. Fittings are listed with IAPMO and certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Meets UPC, IPC, and CUPC requirements.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before cutting into any existing piping. Ensure pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and clean before insertion into the fitting — debris or rough cuts can compromise the push-fit seal. Follow applicable local plumbing codes, including IPC and UPC requirements, for underground and potable water applications.
