The SHARKBITE CASH ACME U009LFA is a lead-free reducing coupling designed for tool-free push-fit installation in residential and commercial plumbing systems. Manufactured from DZR brass, this fitting connects 3/8-inch supply lines to 1/2-inch pipe runs without soldering, crimping, or threading. The push-fit mechanism is compatible with copper CTS, CPVC, and PEX tubing, and each fitting includes an integral tube liner for use with PEX. Rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, the U009LFA meets demanding service conditions in potable and hydronic water distribution. Each box contains 12 fittings.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial water distribution applications where a size transition from 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch is required. Typical uses include branch supply lines, fixture connections, and retrofit work where fast, reliable transitions are needed without open flame. The U009LFA is certified for underground installation as a manufactured joint without requiring access panels, making it a practical choice for in-slab or direct-burial scenarios.
Designed for use with 3/8-inch x 1/2-inch copper CTS, CPVC, and PEX tubing in potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution per IAPMO listing.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified technicians following local plumbing codes including IPC, UPC, and CUPC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting or modifying any existing line. Ensure tubing ends are cut square, deburred, and fully inserted to the depth mark before pressurizing. When installing on PEX, confirm the integral tube liner is seated properly before making the push-fit connection.
