The SHARKBITE CASH ACME FIPS3838Z is a quarter turn, full-port brass ball valve configured with a 3/8-inch female iron pipe (FIP) inlet and a 3/8-inch OD compression outlet. The valve is designed to control water supply to fixtures such as ice makers, toilets, and faucets. Its straight inline body accepts a standard pipe thread connection on the supply side and a compression fitting on the outlet side. Plumbers and plumbing contractors install this valve where a reliable, low-profile shutoff is required at the point of fixture connection. The full-port ball design minimizes flow restriction, and the quarter-turn handle provides fast, positive open and close action.
This valve is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where an inline shutoff is needed on a small-diameter water supply line. Typical installations include toilet supply risers, under-sink faucet supplies, and refrigerator ice maker lines. The FIP inlet threads onto male-threaded pipe stubs or supply nipples, while the compression outlet accepts standard 3/8-inch OD supply tubing. It is compatible with iron pipe on the threaded end.
Compatible with iron pipe on the threaded FIP inlet. Suitable for standard 3/8-inch OD supply line tubing on the compression outlet. Designed for water supply shutoff applications at ice makers, toilets, and faucets.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the main water supply and relieve line pressure before beginning work. Apply an appropriate pipe thread sealant to the male pipe threads before threading on the FIP inlet. Tighten compression fittings to hand-tight plus the manufacturer-recommended turns per standard plumbing practice, and verify all connections for leaks after restoring water pressure.
