The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME CPVCS1238Z is a quarter turn straight full port brass ball valve designed to control water supply lines in residential plumbing applications. It features a 1/2-inch CPVC inlet connection and a 3/8-inch OD compression outlet, making it a reliable shutoff point between a CPVC supply line and a fixture supply tube. The full port design maintains strong flow rates, and the quarter turn operation allows fast, positive shutoff without tools. This valve is installed by licensed plumbers and skilled DIYers in new construction and retrofit work alike.
This valve is suited for residential plumbing where a CPVC branch line needs to terminate at a fixture supply connection. Typical applications include supply feeds for toilets, kitchen and bathroom faucets, and ice makers. The CPVC inlet is solvent-welded directly to the CPVC pipe run, while the 3/8-inch OD compression outlet accepts standard braided or plastic supply lines. It is packaged 12 units per case, making it practical for multi-fixture jobs or stocking a service vehicle.
Compatible with CPVC pipe at the inlet. The 3/8-inch OD compression outlet is sized for standard fixture supply lines used with toilets, faucets, and ice makers.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson following local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the main water supply and depressurize the line before solvent-welding the CPVC inlet connection. Allow solvent cement to cure fully per the cement manufacturer's instructions before pressurizing the system. Verify the compression fitting is snug but do not overtighten, as brass compression fittings can crack under excessive torque.
