The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME CPVCA1238Z is a full-port brass ball angle valve designed for residential plumbing supply line connections. It features a 1/2-inch CPVC inlet and a 3/8-inch OD compression outlet, making it a reliable shutoff point between CPVC pipe and flexible supply lines. The quarter-turn ball mechanism provides fast, positive shutoff with minimal effort and no ongoing maintenance. Constructed from brass, this valve is suited for potable water service in toilet, faucet, and ice maker supply applications. A licensed plumber or experienced pipe fitter typically handles the installation as part of fixture rough-in or replacement work.
This angle valve is used in residential plumbing where CPVC distribution piping feeds individual fixtures. Common install scenarios include toilet rough-in supply connections, under-sink faucet supply lines, and refrigerator ice maker feeds. The CPVC inlet side is solvent-cemented directly to the CPVC pipe run, and the 3/8-inch OD compression outlet accepts standard braided or chrome supply lines. The angle configuration allows the valve to transition from a wall-stub or floor-stub CPVC pipe to the fixture supply line in a single fitting.
Compatible with CPVC pipe on the inlet side. The 3/8-inch OD compression outlet is designed to connect standard fixture supply lines for toilets, faucets, and ice makers.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the main water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. The CPVC inlet must be joined using approved CPVC solvent cement — do not use PVC cement. Allow full cure time per the solvent cement manufacturer instructions before pressurizing the line.
