The SHARKBITE CASH ACME COMPA1238Z is a quarter-turn full-port brass ball angle valve designed for residential plumbing shutoff applications. It connects a 1/2-inch (5/8-inch OD) compression inlet to a 3/8-inch OD compression outlet. The full-port ball design allows unrestricted flow when open and a complete shutoff with a simple 90-degree handle turn. The valve body is brass construction, providing durability and corrosion resistance in potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and experienced DIYers install this valve as a supply stop for toilets, faucets, and ice makers. Compression fittings on both ends require no soldering, making installation straightforward with standard hand tools.
This angle valve is suited for residential water supply shutoff service at fixtures including toilets, kitchen and bathroom faucets, and refrigerator ice maker lines. The compression connection style is compatible with copper pipe. The angle configuration redirects flow 90 degrees, making it the standard choice when a supply line exits a wall or floor stub-out and connects to a vertical fixture supply. Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson. Shut off the main water supply and relieve line pressure before removing any existing valve. Attach the valve to the supply pipe using the compression nut and ferrule, tightening with a wrench — do not overtighten, as this can crack the ferrule or distort the compression seat. After the valve is secured to the pipe, connect the fixture supply line to the 3/8-inch OD outlet and verify there are no leaks at both compression connections before returning the system to service.
