The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UP134A5 is a 5-pack of 3/4-inch poly alloy barb insert to 3/4-inch male pipe thread adapters designed for cross-link polyethylene (PEX) tubing in hot and cold water systems. Each fitting is made from NSF-listed poly alloy, offering a lead-free alternative to traditional brass PEX insert fittings. The barb insert end secures to PEX tubing using cinch clamps or copper crimp rings, and after crimping, each connection can be immediately pressure-tested to well over 100 psi. These fittings are installed by licensed plumbers in residential and light commercial water supply applications.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where PEX tubing connects to threaded pipe fittings or fixtures. The barb insert end is compatible with cross-link polyethylene PEX tubing, and the male pipe thread end provides a standard threaded transition point. Use with a True Value 608-933 cinch clamp and a cinch tool (True Value 608-743), or install with standard copper crimp rings using an appropriately sized crimp tool. Both hot and cold water supply lines are valid applications for this fitting.
Designed for use with cross-link polyethylene PEX tubing in 3/4-inch diameter. Compatible with True Value 608-933 cinch clamps and requires True Value 608-743 cinch tool or standard copper crimp rings for installation. Serves as a replacement for brass PEX insert fittings to meet applicable material compliance requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making any connections. Ensure the correct crimp or cinch tool is used for the fitting style selected — do not mix cinch and crimp hardware on the same connection. Inspect each crimp or clamp for proper seating before restoring pressure.
