The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UP020A5 is a 1-inch poly alloy barb insert coupling designed for cross-link polyethylene (PEX) tubing in hot and cold water systems. Sold in a 5-pack, these fittings are made from NSF-listed poly alloy material, serving as a low-lead replacement for traditional brass PEX insert fittings. They conform to California AB1953 and Vermont S152 low-lead requirements. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters use these couplings in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where PEX tubing is the specified pipe material.

These couplings are suited for potable water applications in both hot and cold supply lines using cross-link PEX tubing. They are compatible with cinch clamp installation using the True Value 608-933 cinch clamp and 608-743 cinch tool, or with standard copper crimp rings applied with a PEX crimp tool. After crimping, each fitting can be immediately pressure-tested to well over 100 psi, allowing for fast verification of joint integrity during rough-in or repair work.
