The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC953A is a 10-pack of 1/2 inch PEX cinch clamp rings designed for use with brass barb insert PEX fittings. Each clamp features a pure copper fastening ring that cinches tightly around PEX tubing to form a leak-free connection. The connections are made with NSF-listed brass inserts, making them suitable for potable water systems. Each fitting can be tested to well over 100 psi immediately after installation, eliminating wait time before pressure verification. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install these clamps using a dedicated cinch tool, such as the True Value 608-743. The pack of 10 provides enough hardware for a standard residential repair or rough-in run.
These PEX cinch clamps are used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems wherever 1/2 inch PEX tubing is run for hot or cold water distribution. Common applications include new construction rough-in, remodel work, and repair of existing PEX water lines. The cinch clamp method is widely favored for its speed and the ability to immediately pressure-test each joint after installation, which is critical during inspections or time-sensitive service calls.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch brass barb insert PEX fittings. For use with cinch tool True Value 608-743. Connections are NSF-listed for potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or joining any tubing. A dedicated cinch tool is required to properly seat the copper ring — do not attempt to secure the clamp with standard clamp pliers or hand tools not rated for PEX cinch work. After each connection is made, pressure-test the fitting before closing up walls or concealing the work.
