The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC608LFA is a 3/4 inch brass PEX barb x 3/4 inch male sweat adapter designed to transition copper pipe to PEX tubing in potable water systems. The barb end connects to SDR-9 dimensional standard PEX tubing using stainless steel cinch clamps installed with a cinch tool. The sweat end solders directly to standard copper pipe using conventional sweat-fitting techniques. This fitting is lead free, with wetted surfaces containing less than 0.25 percent lead by weight, meeting AB1953 California and VT S152 Vermont low lead restrictions. Licensed plumbers install this fitting in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where a copper-to-PEX transition is required.
The UC608LFA is suited for residential and commercial potable water supply lines, including hot water recirculation systems. It is NSF CL-R certified for use in hot water systems where chlorinated water at up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit is constantly recirculated. It meets ASTM F-876 and ASTM F-877 standards as well as CSA B137.5 and NSF 14 and 61 certifications for potable water service. Typical applications include new construction plumbing, remodel work, and repair scenarios where existing copper supply lines are being converted to PEX distribution.
Designed for use with SDR-9 dimensional standard PEX tubing secured with stainless steel cinch clamps using cinch tool TV 608-743. Compatible with standard 3/4 inch copper pipe sweat connections. For use in potable water systems meeting NSF 14 and 61 requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. The sweat end requires standard soldering tools and flux rated for potable water copper fittings — do not use acid-core solder on potable water connections. The PEX barb end requires a stainless steel cinch clamp and a properly calibrated cinch tool to achieve a secure, leak-free connection.
