The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC600LFA is a 1/2 inch brass PEX barb x 1/2 inch female sweat adapter designed to transition copper pipe to PEX tubing in potable water systems. The lead-free brass construction keeps wetted-surface lead content below 0.25% by weight, meeting AB1953 California and VT S152 Vermont low-lead requirements. The barb end connects to SDR-9 PEX tubing using stainless steel cinch clamps applied with a cinch tool. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers during new construction, remodel, or retrofit work wherever a copper-to-PEX transition is required.

This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a sweat copper connection must transition to PEX tubing. It is rated for hot water service, including systems where chlorinated water at up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit is continuously recirculated. The fitting ships in a package quantity of 24 units, making it practical for multi-unit or production plumbing jobs. Cinch clamps and a compatible cinch tool are required for final PEX barb termination.

Compatibility

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and drain the water supply before soldering the sweat end onto copper pipe. Allow the fitting to cool fully before attaching PEX tubing and applying the cinch clamp with the specified cinch tool. Do not over-compress the cinch clamp or substitute clamp types not rated for this fitting.
