The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC530LFA is a lead-free brass barb insert adapter designed to connect 3/4 inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing to a 3/4 inch female iron pipe thread (FPT) swivel plastic nut end. The barb insert end grips the interior of PEX pipe and is secured with cinch clamps or copper crimp rings using the appropriate crimping tool. This fitting is rated immediately testable to well over 100 psi, making it practical for pressure-checking newly completed rough-in work. It is suited for potable water distribution systems in residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Each package contains 6 fittings.
This adapter is used in PEX-based water distribution systems where a transition from flexible PEX tubing to a threaded pipe end, threaded fitting, or faucet shank is required. The 3/4 inch size is common in main distribution runs serving multiple fixtures. The swivel plastic nut on the FPT end allows easy hand-start threading before final tightening, reducing cross-threading risk at the connection point. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of new construction rough-in or retrofit plumbing work.

Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing piping. Secure the barb end to PEX tubing using the correct cinch clamp or copper crimp ring and the appropriate tool sized for 3/4 inch fittings. Do not over-tighten the swivel nut connection against threaded components, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
