The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC514LFA5 is a lead-free brass barb insert plug sold in a 5-pack, designed for pressure testing 1/2-inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing systems. Each plug seats into the barb end of a PEX fitting, sealing the line so the system can be pressurized and tested immediately after installation. Rated well above 100 psi, this plug gives plumbers a reliable way to verify system integrity before finishing a rough-in. The lead-free brass construction meets strict potable water standards, and the wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25% lead by weight.

This plug is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications wherever 1/2-inch PEX tubing is used, including supply lines, manifold systems, and hydronic distribution. To secure the barb end to the PEX pipe, the plug can be used with cinch clamps and a cinch tool or with copper crimp rings and a crimp tool. Clamps, rings, and tools are sold separately. The plug is immediately testable once installed, making it practical for rough-in inspections and pressure-verification workflows.
