Product Description

The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC454LFA is a lead-free brass PEX barb insert tee designed to create a 1/2-inch branch off a 3/4-inch run of cross-linked polyethylene PEX tubing. This fitting is manufactured for potable water distribution systems in residential and light commercial plumbing. The wetted surface contains less than 0.25% lead by weight, meeting California AB1953 and Vermont VT S152 low-lead restrictions. The fitting is immediately testable to well over 100 psi after installation, which allows plumbers to pressure-check the system without delay. Package quantity is 12 pieces per unit.

This tee is used in PEX plumbing installations where a 3/4-inch supply line must be reduced to feed a 1/2-inch branch line. Typical applications include residential water distribution, manifold branch runs, and in-wall rough-in plumbing. The 1/2-inch barb ends are compatible with cinch clamps using a TV 608-743 cinch tool and TV 608-933 cinch clamps, or standard copper crimp rings with a crimp tool. The 3/4-inch barb end is secured using TV 608-826 cinch clamps with the TV 608-743 cinch tool, or copper crimp rings and a crimp tool. Clamps, rings, and tools are not included.

Compatibility

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC standards. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting into any existing PEX run. Ensure the correct barb size is matched to the correct PEX tubing size before cinching or crimping. Inspect each connection with a go/no-go gauge when using copper crimp rings to confirm a proper crimp.
