The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC362LFA is a lead-free brass barb insert tee designed to join three runs of 1/2-inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. The fitting meets NSF/ANSI Standard 14-2009, ASTM F1807, and ANSI/NSF Standard 61 Annex G for lead-free compliance. Wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, satisfying California AB1953 and Vermont S15 requirements. Once installed using cinch clamps or copper crimp rings, the connection is immediately testable to well over 100 psi. Licensed plumbers and qualified pipe fitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This tee is suited for potable water distribution in residential construction, remodels, and repair work where PEX tubing is the pipe material of choice. It connects three pieces of 1/2-inch PEX tubing at a tee junction. Barb ends are secured to PEX pipe using TV 608-933 cinch clamps with a TV 608-743 cinch tool, or with copper crimp rings and a compatible crimp tool. The fitting is sold in packages of 24 units, making it practical for job-lot purchasing on multi-fixture projects.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch cross-linked polyethylene PEX tubing. Barb ends are secured using TV 608-933 cinch clamps with TV 608-743 cinch tool, or copper crimp rings with a compatible crimp tool per ASTM F1807 procedures.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting into existing lines. Use only properly sized cinch clamp or crimp tooling to ensure a leak-free barb connection — do not attempt to push barb fittings into PEX without securing the ends with an approved clamp or ring. Verify the completed assembly by pressure-testing before closing walls or covering the installation.
