The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC120LFA10 is a lead-free brass barb insert adapter sold in a 10-pack, designed to connect 1/2 inch PEX cross-linked polyethylene tubing to 1/2 inch male iron pipe thread (MPT) fittings or pipe ends. Each fitting features a barbed insert end sized for 1/2 inch PEX and a 1/2 inch MPT male thread on the other side. The brass construction meets lead-free standards, with wetted surfaces containing less than 0.25% lead by weight. Fittings are rated to exceed 100 psi and carry NSF/ANSI 14-2009, ASTM F1807, and ANSI/NSF 61 Annex G certifications for potable water service. These adapters are installed by licensed plumbers in residential and light commercial applications.
These adapters are suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems where PEX tubing must transition to threaded pipe connections. Typical scenarios include supply line rough-ins, manifold connections, and fixture transitions where a 1/2 inch PEX run meets a 1/2 inch female iron pipe thread end or fitting. Fittings are secured using compatible cinch clamps with a cinch tool or copper crimp rings with a crimp tool per ASTM F1807 installation practice. The 10-pack quantity supports multi-connection jobs or service van restocking.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch cross-linked polyethylene PEX tubing connecting to 1/2 inch female iron pipe thread pipe ends or fittings. Compatible with cinch clamps and cinch tools, or copper crimp rings and crimp tools per ASTM F1807 standards.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing lines. Secure each barb fitting to PEX tubing using the appropriate crimp or cinch method — do not use barb fittings without a properly installed clamp or ring. Verify all connections hold pressure before closing walls or concealing any portion of the installation.
