The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC088LFA is a 3/4-inch lead-free brass barb insert x 3/4-inch female pipe thread (FPT) adapter designed to connect 3/4-inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing to a 3/4-inch male iron pipe thread (MIP) pipe end or fitting. Constructed from lead-free brass, this adapter meets NSF/ANSI Standard 14-2009, ASTM F1807 requirements for potable water transport, and ANSI/NSF Standard 61 Annex G for lead-free compliance. The wetted surface contains less than 0.25% lead by weight, satisfying California AB1953 and Vermont VT S152 low-lead restrictions. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial PEX distribution systems.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where PEX tubing must terminate at or connect through a threaded iron pipe fitting. The barb end slides into the PEX tubing and is secured with compatible cinch clamps or copper crimp rings using the appropriate tool. Once installed, the assembly is immediately testable to well over 100 psi, making it practical for pressure-testing rough-in work before wall closure. It is sold in a package quantity of 12 units.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing connecting to 3/4-inch male iron pipe thread pipe ends or fittings in potable water distribution systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Secure the barb end to PEX tubing using approved cinch clamps with the proper cinch tool or copper crimp rings with a calibrated crimp tool — do not use the fitting without proper mechanical securing of the barb connection. Verify all connections with a pressure test before closing walls or concealing piping.
