The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME UC006LFA is a 3/8 inch x 3/8 inch lead-free brass barb PEX coupling designed for joining PEX tubing in potable water and hot water recirculation systems. It connects using stainless steel cinch clamps applied with a cinch tool, providing a secure, corrosion-resistant joint. The wetted surfaces of this coupling contain less than 1/4 of 1 percent lead by weight, meeting current low-lead standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where reliable, code-compliant PEX connections are required.
This coupling is suited for residential and commercial potable water supply lines, including hot water recirculation loops where chlorinated water at up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit is continuously circulated. It meets ASTM F-876 and ASTM F-877 standards to SDR-9 dimensional requirements, making it compatible with standard PEX tubing installations. It is certified under NSF 14 and NSF 61 for potable water use and carries CSA B137.5 certification. The fitting also carries NSF Cal-R certification for hot water systems with chlorinated recirculating water. This product is sold in a package quantity of 12.
Designed for use with PEX tubing connected using stainless steel cinch clamps and cinch tool TV 608-743, conforming to ASTM F-876 and ASTM F-877 SDR-9 dimensional standards. Suitable for potable water systems meeting NSF 14 and NSF 61 requirements and CSA B137.5 standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting tubing or installing fittings. Use the designated cinch tool with stainless steel cinch clamps to secure the barb connection — do not substitute clamp types or tools not rated for the application. Inspect the tubing end for clean, square cuts before seating the barb to ensure a leak-free joint.
