The SHARKBITE CASH ACME U870W5 is a 3/4-inch CTS (Copper Tube Size) PEX-B stick pipe, 5 feet in length, manufactured using the Type B silane cross-linking method. This white PEX pipe is rated for both hot and cold potable water distribution in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. The silane method produces a pipe with increased anti-oxidants and thermal stabilizers, a critical advantage for systems with chlorine exposure and recirculation loops. Burst pressure is rated at 1,100 psi at 73 degrees F and 375 psi at 180 degrees F, confirming suitability for standard domestic water service conditions. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this product.
This PEX-B stick pipe is designed for hot and cold potable water supply lines in residential new construction and retrofit plumbing. It is compatible with 3/4-inch quick-connect and brass PEX insert fittings meeting ASTM SDR-9 specifications. The rigid stick format is well suited for straight runs in walls, floors, and mechanical rooms. It is appropriate for use in recirculation systems where chlorine resistance and thermal stability are required. This product is sold in a package of 10 sticks.
Compatible with 3/4-inch quick-connect and brass PEX insert fittings meeting ASTM SDR-9 certification standards. The 25-year warranty remains valid when used with other manufacturers fittings that carry ASTM SDR-9 certification.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or connecting pipe. Support pipe every 30 inches both vertically and horizontally, and protect pipe where it enters or exits slabs or walls. Do not use duct tape, pipe dope, threading compound, or mineral or linseed oil with this pipe. Maintain a minimum clearance of 18 inches from water heaters, boilers, and wood-burning appliances; 12 inches from recessed lights; and 6 inches from gas appliance vents. Do not kink the pipe or expose it to direct sunlight.
