The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME U118LFA is a lead-free, push-fit reducing connector designed for fast, tool-free joining of 3/8-inch tubing to 1/2-inch male iron pipe (MIP) threads. Constructed from DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, this fitting handles up to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both potable and hydronic water distribution systems. It includes an integral tube liner and accommodates copper (CTS), CPVC, and PEX tubing without soldering, crimping, or compression tools. Licensed plumbers and water distribution technicians install this fitting in residential and light commercial systems where a quick, reliable reducing connection to a threaded male iron pipe fitting is required.
This connector is rated for underground applications and qualifies as a manufactured joint without requiring access panels, making it well suited for concealed or in-slab installations. Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or UPC code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making or breaking any fitting connection. Ensure tubing ends are cut square, deburred, and inserted to the full depth mark before engaging the fitting. Do not exceed the rated pressure or temperature limits of 200 psi and 200 degrees F.
