The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME U068LFA is a lead-free push-fit connector designed to join 1/2-inch CTS tubing to a 3/4-inch female iron pipe (FIP) threaded port. Constructed from dezincification-resistant (DZR) brass, it is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F. The fitting uses SharkBite's tool-free push-to-connect mechanism and includes an integral tube liner, eliminating the need for a separate stiffener insert during installation. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in potable water and hydronic distribution systems. It is sold in a package of 6 fittings.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a transition is needed between CTS tubing and a female iron pipe thread. Compatible tubing types include copper, CPVC, and PEX. The push-fit design allows installation in tight spaces without soldering, gluing, or crimping tools. The fitting is certified for underground use as a manufactured joint, meaning no access panel is required after burial. It is also approved for both potable water and hydronic heating distribution systems.
Compatible with 1/2-inch copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX. Connects to 3/4-inch female iron pipe threaded ports. Certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Listed with IAPMO and certified to ASSE 1061 and NSF 61 standards. Meets UPC, IPC, and CUPC requirements.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before fitting installation. Cut tubing square and deburr the end before inserting into the push-fit collar. Verify tubing OD meets CTS tolerances before seating; the integral liner must be fully engaged for a watertight connection. Follow all applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for underground joint burial depth and backfill.
