The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME 23063LF is a lead-free, chrome-plated brass straight stop valve designed for use on cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing systems. It features a 1/2 inch barb insert inlet and a 1/2 inch barb insert outlet with an oval shutoff handle. Connections are made using cinch clamps or copper crimp rings, and once crimped, each fitting can be pressure-tested to well over 100 psi. The wetted surface contains less than 0.25 percent lead by weight, satisfying lead-free mandates under AB1953 and Vermont S152. Licensed plumbers install this valve in potable water distribution and hot water recirculation lines.
This straight stop is suited for residential and light commercial PEX plumbing installations where an inline shutoff is required at fixture supply connections. It is compatible with cinch clamps using the TV 608-933 clamps and TV 608-743 cinch tool, or with standard copper crimp rings on SDR-9 cross-linked PEX tubing. It is rated for continuous use in hot water systems where chlorinated water at up to 140 degrees F is constantly recirculated, making it appropriate for hydronic and potable recirculation applications. The package contains 12 units.
Designed for use on cross-linked polyethylene PEX tubing meeting SDR-9 dimensional standards per ASTM F-876 and ASTM F-877. Use with TV 608-933 cinch clamps and TV 608-743 cinch tool, or copper crimp rings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into existing PEX runs. A dedicated cinch or crimp tool is required to achieve a proper barb connection — do not attempt to seat barb fittings without the correct tool. After crimping, pressure-test each connection before covering or concealing the work.
