The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME 23062LF is a lead-free straight stop valve designed for use with cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing in potable water systems. It features a 1/2 inch chrome-plated barb inlet and a 3/8 inch brass barb insert outlet, with a multi-turn oval handle for precise flow control. The brass inserts are NSF-listed and the wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25 percent lead by weight, meeting current low-lead requirements. Licensed plumbers install this fitting during rough-in or fixture supply connections where PEX tubing is the distribution piping method.
This straight stop is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where PEX tubing is run to fixtures such as toilets, faucets, and supply lines. It is intended for use with TV 608-933 cinch clamps, requiring cinch tool TV 608-743, or with copper crimp rings on SDR-9 cross-linked PEX tubing. After crimping, fittings can be immediately pressure-tested to well over 100 psi. The fitting is certified for use in hot water recirculation systems where chlorinated water reaches up to 140 degrees F continuously.
Designed for use with cross-linked polyethylene PEX tubing meeting SDR-9 dimensional standards per ASTM F-876 and ASTM F-877. Use with TV 608-933 cinch clamps and cinch tool TV 608-743, or copper crimp rings. Sold in a package quantity of 6.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the main water supply and depressurize the system before cutting into existing lines or making connections. Ensure the correct crimp or cinch tool is used to achieve a proper seal on PEX barb fittings — do not attempt to hand-tighten barb connections without the appropriate tool. Verify fitting orientation and handle operation before restoring water pressure.
