The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME 23061LF is a lead-free, chrome-plated brass straight stop valve with a 1/2-inch barb insert inlet and a 1/2-inch male pipe thread (MPT) outlet. It features a 1/4-turn lever handle for fast shutoff and is designed for use in potable water systems where reliable isolation of a single fixture or appliance is required. NSF-listed brass inserts and compliance with ASTM F-876 and ASTM F-877 to SDR-9 dimensional standards confirm suitability for cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing installations. The wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25 percent lead by weight, meeting AB1953 California and Vermont VT S152 low-lead restrictions.
This straight stop is used in residential and light commercial plumbing where PEX supply lines connect to fixture stops beneath sinks, behind toilets, or at appliance connections. The barb insert end accepts copper crimp rings or cinch clamps on PEX tubing. Use with TV 608-933 cinch clamps, which require the TV 608-743 cinch tool, or use standard copper crimp rings. After crimping, connections can be pressure-tested well over 100 psi. NSF CL-R certification covers use in hot water recirculation systems with chlorinated water up to 140 degrees F. Licensed plumbers perform this installation as part of rough-in or finish trim work.
Designed for use with cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing meeting SDR-9 dimensional standards. Compatible with TV 608-933 cinch clamps installed using the TV 608-743 cinch tool, or with standard copper crimp rings per ASTM F-877 specifications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the main water supply and relieve system pressure before making any connections. Barb insert ends require proper crimping or cinching with the specified tool to achieve a leak-free joint — do not use barb fittings with push-to-connect or compression methods. Verify compliance with local plumbing code and IPC requirements before installation in potable water systems.
