The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME 23057LF is a lead-free brass straight stop fitting designed for use in residential plumbing supply lines. It features a 1/2 inch barb insert on one end and a 3/8 inch OD compression connection on the other, with a 1/4 turn oval handle for shutoff. The barb end connects to 1/2 inch cross-linked polyethylene PEX tubing, while the compression end ties into a standard 3/8 inch OD supply connector. The wetted surfaces contain less than 0.25% lead by weight, meeting California AB1953 and Vermont VT S152 low-lead requirements. Licensed plumbers and experienced plumbing technicians install this fitting during fixture supply rough-in or service work.

This fitting is suited for residential potable water supply applications where PEX tubing transitions to a compression-style fixture supply connection. Typical installations include under-sink shutoffs serving faucets, toilets, or similar fixtures. The barb end is secured to the PEX pipe using TV 608-933 cinch clamps with a TV 608-743 cinch tool, or with copper crimp rings and a compatible crimp tool. Once installed, the fitting is immediately testable to well over 100 psi, allowing pressure verification before walls are closed or fixtures are connected.

Installation Notes

Ensure the PEX tubing end is cut cleanly and squarely before seating it onto the barb to achieve a proper crimp or cinch clamp seal. Do not overtighten the compression nut on the 3/8 inch OD supply side — hand-snug plus a partial wrench turn is the standard approach for compression fittings.
