The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME 20YE515036B is a 1/2-inch OD epoxy-coated flexible gas connector designed to connect gas water heaters, dryers, and moderate-usage appliances to a shut-off valve. At 36 inches in length, it provides the reach needed for standard residential appliance installations. The DuraCoat epoxy coating delivers corrosion resistance and protection against chemical stains from common household products and UV exposure. The connector is certified for gas ratings up to 71,100 BTU/h, covering the load requirements of most residential water heaters and dryers. Installation requires no special tools beyond standard pipe wrenches and thread sealant approved for gas service.
This connector is suited for residential installations where a gas appliance must be connected to a nearby shut-off valve. Typical applications include natural gas or propane water heaters, clothes dryers, and similar moderate-usage gas appliances. The DuraCoat epoxy finish makes it approved for both indoor and outdoor use, accommodating utility room, garage, and exterior appliance installations. The kit includes one 36-inch connector, one 1/2-inch FIP fitting, and one 1/2-inch MIP fitting tapped for 3/8-inch FIP, giving the installer the hardware needed to complete the connection at both ends.
Designed to connect most major brands of residential gas water heaters, dryers, and moderate-usage appliances rated up to 71,100 BTU/h to a standard gas shut-off valve. Compatible with 1/2-inch FIP and 1/2-inch MIP (tapped 3/8-inch FIP) fittings as included.
Gas connector installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified gas fitter in accordance with local codes and IFGC requirements. Shut off the gas supply at the meter or main valve and verify zero pressure before disconnecting or connecting any gas line. Use a gas-rated thread sealant or PTFE tape approved for gas service on all threaded connections, and pressure-test all joints after installation. Never kink, stretch, or route the connector through walls, floors, or ceilings.
