The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME 20YE50V148B is a 48-inch epoxy-coated stainless steel gas connector with an integrated thermal excess flow valve. It connects gas appliances to supply lines using a 1/2 in. MIP inlet tapped for 3/8 in. FIP and a 1/2 in. MIP outlet. The flexible corrugated tube measures 3/8 in. inner diameter and 1/2 in. outer diameter. The thermal excess flow valve provides an automatic shutoff function when abnormal gas flow is detected, adding a layer of protection in residential and light commercial gas installations. Licensed plumbers and gas fitters are the primary installers of this connector.
This connector is approved for both indoor and outdoor use, making it suitable for a wide range of gas appliance hookups including ranges, dryers, water heaters, and space heaters. The epoxy coating on the stainless steel corrugated tube provides corrosion resistance in exposed or damp environments. The fittings are included with the assembly, allowing for a complete installation without sourcing additional hardware. This connector fits typical residential and light commercial gas piping systems where a flexible appliance connector is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation gas appliance connector for residential and light commercial gas systems requiring a 1/2 in. MIP by 3/8 in. FIP by 1/2 in. MIP flexible connector with a 48-inch length.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified gas fitter in accordance with local codes and IFGC requirements. Shut off the gas supply at the meter or nearest upstream valve before disconnecting or connecting any gas fittings. Use an approved pipe thread sealant or thread tape rated for gas service on all threaded connections, and pressure-test with a leak detection solution before returning the appliance to service. Do not over-bend the corrugated tube or allow it to contact sharp edges or heat sources.
