The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME 10YE50V036B is a thermal excess flow gas connector designed for use in residential and light commercial gas supply applications. It features a 1/2 inch MIP inlet with a tapped 3/8 inch FIP x 1/2 inch MIP end configuration and measures 36 inches in length. The flexible tubing has a 1/4 inch inner diameter and 3/8 inch outer diameter, constructed from epoxy coated stainless steel for corrosion resistance. The integrated thermal excess flow valve automatically restricts gas flow when abnormal heat conditions are detected, adding a critical layer of safety to gas appliance connections. Licensed plumbers and gas fitters install this connector in both indoor and outdoor service environments.
This connector is suited for connecting gas appliances such as ranges, dryers, water heaters, and similar equipment to rigid gas supply lines. The 36 inch length provides installation flexibility when the appliance and supply stub-out are not in close proximity. Its approval for indoor and outdoor use makes it adaptable to utility closets, garages, exterior appliance installations, and similar settings. The epoxy coating helps resist moisture and environmental exposure in outdoor or high-humidity locations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation gas connector for residential and light commercial gas appliances requiring a 1/2 inch MIP supply connection and 3/8 inch FIP x 1/2 inch MIP end fittings.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified gas fitter in accordance with local codes and IFGC requirements. Shut off the gas supply at the meter or nearest upstream shutoff valve before making or breaking any connections. Apply an approved gas-rated thread sealant or PTFE tape to all threaded joints and inspect for leaks with an approved leak detection solution after restoring gas pressure. Do not overtighten fittings or bend the connector to a radius tighter than the manufacturer allows, as this can damage the flexible tubing.
