The SharkBite 24623LF is a 3/4-inch Push-to-Connect x 3/4-inch Male Hose Thread (MHT) brass garden valve with a drop ear bracket, designed for fast, solder-free installation on copper, CPVC, or PEX pipe. The push-to-connect end uses stainless steel gripping teeth and a specially formulated O-ring to create a pressure-tight, leak-free seal without clamps, unions, or glue. The drop ear provides a surface-mount anchor point, and the MHT outlet accepts standard garden hose connections. This valve is certified for potable water supply and hydronic heating applications, making it a reliable shut-off solution for a broad range of residential plumbing work. Licensed plumbers and experienced pipe fitters are the typical installers.
The 24623LF suits residential and light commercial installs where a hose bib or exterior shut-off valve is needed on copper, CPVC, or PEX supply lines. Its drop ear design allows it to be secured directly to wall framing or blocking, which is common in new construction rough-in and remodel work. The push-to-connect inlet simplifies installation in tight spaces, since the fitting can be rotated after assembly to clear obstructions. Fittings and valves can be disconnected and reused with the SharkBite disconnect tool, making this a practical choice for retrofit and repair scenarios as well.
Designed for use with 3/4-inch copper, CPVC, or PEX pipe in any combination. The 3/4-inch MHT outlet accepts standard garden hose fittings. Certified for potable water supply and hydronic heating systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing pipe. Pipe ends must be cut square, deburred, and clean before insertion into the push-to-connect end — any debris or burrs can compromise the O-ring seal. When mounting the drop ear, secure it to solid blocking or framing to prevent stress on the valve body during hose connection and disconnection.
