The SHARKBITE/CASH ACME 22222-0000LFA is a 1/2-inch by 1/2-inch lead-free ball valve built for push-fit installation in potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Constructed from DZR brass, this valve is rated to 200 psi and 200 degrees F, making it suitable for both domestic water supply and low-temperature hydronic applications. The push-fit connection requires no soldering, crimping, or special tools, and an integral tube liner is included for use with PEX tubing. Licensed plumbers and HVAC service techs install this valve during new construction and retrofit work where fast, reliable shutoff is required.
This valve is designed for use with copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe in 1/2-inch size. The push-fit end connections accept pipe without preparation beyond a clean, square cut and proper deburring. It is certified for underground installation as a manufactured joint without requiring an access panel, which makes it practical for in-slab or burial applications where future access may be limited. Typical applications include residential and light commercial water distribution, radiant heating loops, and fixture isolation.
Compatible with 1/2-inch copper tubing (CTS), CPVC, and PEX pipe. Certified for use on potable and hydronic water distribution systems. Fittings are listed with IAPMO.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or UPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or removing the valve. Pipe ends must be cut square, deburred, and wiped clean before insertion into the push-fit fitting. For PEX applications, insert the included integral tube liner fully into the pipe end before making the connection.
