The SGS PRO 16625 is a tree-with-pointed-end tungsten carbide abrasive bur designed for high-speed material removal and contour finishing in metalworking applications. It features a 1/4 inch shank diameter, a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, and a 6-1/2 inch overall length, making it well-suited for reaching into deep cavities and tight work areas. The single-cut tooth style produces a smoother finish and generates less heat than double-cut styles, reducing loading on the workpiece. This bur is rated for a maximum of 55,000 RPM and is compatible with standard die grinders and rotary tool spindles used in industrial and fabrication settings.
The SGS PRO 16625 is used in metal fabrication, tool and die work, aerospace maintenance, and general machining shops where operators need controlled stock removal on hard and exotic materials. The tree-with-pointed-end geometry allows access to angled surfaces, weld seams, and interior profiles. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users. The 1/2 inch length of cut provides adequate contact area for shaping and blending operations without sacrificing maneuverability.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools accepting a 1/4 inch shank. Suitable for cutting and finishing steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, cermet, nickel, copper, and copper alloys per the stated material application specification SG-1L6.
Installation and use of carbide burs should be performed by qualified machinists or metalworking professionals familiar with high-speed rotary tools. Secure the shank fully in the collet before operation and verify the tool is rated for the intended RPM. Always wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when operating. Inspect the bur for cracks or damage before each use and replace any bur that shows signs of wear or chipping.
