The SGS PRO 15565 is a solid carbide abrasive bur with an SM-3 cone-with-point-end head geometry, designed for precision material removal in metalworking and fabrication applications. The head is finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating and ground with a double-cut tooth pattern, which delivers efficient chip removal and a smooth surface finish at the same time. The 1/4-inch shank fits standard die grinders and rotary tool collets. The cutting length of 1 inch and the 10-degree included angle make this bur well suited to profiling, deburring, and contouring in tight cavities or angled surfaces. Licensed tradespeople and machinists working in metal finishing, welding prep, and toolroom work are the primary installers.
This bur is used in industrial, maintenance, and fabrication settings where controlled metal removal is required. The SM-3 cone-with-point-end profile is particularly effective for reaching into corner radii, cleaning weld seams, and working along angled or tapered surfaces. The double-cut flute pattern suits ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as harder alloys where single-cut burs leave excessive heat. It is compatible with any die grinder or rotary tool accepting a 1/4-inch collet, making it a standard shop-floor consumable across machine shops, welding shops, and maintenance facilities.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools accepting a 1/4-inch collet; suitable for deburring, profiling, and finishing operations on ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and harder alloys in industrial and fabrication environments.
Installation is performed by machinists or metalworking technicians using a die grinder or compatible rotary tool. Ensure the collet is clean and properly tightened to the tool manufacturer specification before operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating rotary cutting tools. Inspect the bur for cracks or chipping before each use and remove it from service if damage is found.
