The SGS PRO 14553 is a flame-profile tungsten carbide rotary burr designed for aggressive material removal in metalworking and fabrication applications. Conforming to industry specification SH-41, this double-cut burr features a 0.125-inch cutting diameter and a 1.5-inch overall length, giving it reach into tight bores, contoured surfaces, and weld joints. The tungsten carbide head is left uncoated to maintain consistent cutting geometry across the full 0.25-inch length of cut. Licensed trades and machinists rely on burrs like this for deburring, chamfering, shaping, and surface prep where rotary file geometry must match the cavity profile precisely.
This flame-shape burr is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metals in both shop and field settings. The 0.125-inch shank fits standard die grinders, pencil grinders, and flexible-shaft machines common in HVAC sheet metal shops, plumbing fabrication, and general maintenance trades. The double-cut flute pattern moves chips quickly, reducing heat buildup and extending tool life when working harder alloys such as stainless steel, hardened steel, titanium, and nickel-based materials. Copper, copper alloys, and cast iron are also listed material applications for this burr.
Designed for use with die grinders, pencil grinders, and flexible-shaft machines accepting a 0.125-inch shank collet. Suitable for stock removal, deburring, and surface preparation on steel, hardened steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, nickel, copper, and copper alloys.
Secure the 0.125-inch shank fully into the collet of the rotary tool before operation and verify the collet nut is properly tightened. Do not exceed the 100,000 RPM maximum rating for this burr. Always wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when operating rotary cutting tools, and ensure the workpiece is firmly secured. Inspect the burr for chipping or wear before each use and replace if the cutting edges are damaged.
