The SGS 93326 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and composite materials. It features a 0.25 inch diameter cutting edge, a 1.125 inch length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length. The four-flute configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and improved surface finish in finish and semi-finish milling operations. A DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating reduces friction and wear, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention at higher feed rates and cutting speeds. This tool is sized for CNC machining centers and manual mills where a 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank is required.
The SGS 93326 is suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and profile work in job shop and production machining environments. The long-length geometry and 1.125 inch length of cut allow access to deeper pockets and stepped features that standard-length end mills cannot reach. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute, and variable index design reduce harmonic vibration during cutting, which is particularly useful in thin-wall and tight-tolerance workpiece applications. Machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, tooling, and general metalworking will find this geometry appropriate for a wide range of roughing-to-finishing passes depending on material hardness and machine rigidity.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the SGS Series 1L-AD long-length end mill line.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Ensure the collet or toolholder is clean and properly torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification before engaging the spindle. Confirm runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator after clamping to minimize premature edge wear. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures and machine-specific guidelines when setting tool offsets and feed rates.
