The SGS 81005 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a 2.00 mm reamer diameter and a diameter tolerance of +0.008 to -0.000 mm, this tool delivers tight, repeatable hole sizing in production and job-shop environments. The 4-flute straight configuration runs right-hand cutting with a right-hand spiral, producing clean, consistent finishes in through-holes and blind bores. The bright, uncoated carbide construction suits a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this reamer for finish passes where dimensional accuracy is critical.
This reamer is suited for light-to-medium duty finish reaming in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in standard collet chucks, drill chucks, and reamer holders. With an overall length of 44.00 mm and a flute length of 12.70 mm, it is sized for small-diameter work where rigidity and concentricity matter. It does not incorporate coolant-through capability, making it best suited for applications where flood coolant or mist is applied externally. The Series 201 designation places it within SGS standard tooling offerings for everyday precision reaming tasks.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard selection for small-diameter precision reaming operations using collet chucks, drill chucks, or reamer holders that accept a straight cylindrical shank in the 2.00 mm diameter range.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists familiar with CNC or manual machine tooling procedures. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully powered down and at rest before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Secure the straight shank concentrically in a clean, undamaged collet or chuck to minimize runout. External flood coolant or mist is recommended, as this tool does not support coolant-through delivery.
