The SGS 77295 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 2.5 inch length of cut, and a 1 inch straight-cylindrical shank, with a 5.5 inch overall length. Seven spiral flutes with a variable helix angle of 37 degrees reduce harmonic vibration and improve chip evacuation during extended cuts. A TiN finish adds surface hardness and wear resistance. The micrograin carbide substrate supports aggressive material removal while maintaining edge integrity under load. This end mill is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and toolroom environments.
The SGS 77295 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and cast materials. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S indicate compatibility with hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous alloys, steel, and superalloys respectively. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. The chipbreaker geometry supports deeper axial engagement by controlling chip length and reducing cutting pressure in slotting and peripheral milling operations.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting a 1 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for milling workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or lock-out state. Use a properly sized collet, end mill holder, or hydraulic chuck rated for 1 inch shank tools and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the shank and holder bore for chips or damage before seating the tool. Tool projection and stick-out should be minimized to reduce deflection, especially given the 5.5 inch overall length.
