The SGS 77262 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Part of the SGS Series 77, this tool features a 0.75 inch diameter cutting edge, 7 flutes, and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating that extends tool life by reducing heat and wear at the cutting zone. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention. A variable helix geometry and integrated chipbreaker work together to improve chip evacuation, reduce chatter, and produce a cleaner finish across a range of workpiece materials. This is a long-series end mill, suited for applications requiring extended reach beyond standard-length tools.
The SGS 77262 is rated for use across multiple primary workpiece material categories, including hardened materials, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, structural steels, and high-temperature alloys. It is appropriate for milling operations in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance is compatible with the tool holder. The long length of cut makes it well suited for deep pocket milling, slotting, and profiling operations where a standard-length tool cannot reach the full feature depth.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 0.75 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for workpiece materials designated under primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, which correspond to hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous materials, structural steels, and high-temperature alloys respectively. Note that this tool is not centercutting and is not intended for direct plunge operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in a compatible collet or end mill holder to the minimum clamping depth required for the holder type before running the spindle. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool installation, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade surface finish. Because this tool is not centercutting, avoid plunge entries — use ramping or helical entry toolpaths instead.
