The SGS 77207 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision finishing operations in demanding metal removal applications. It features a 1/2-inch mill diameter, 7 helical flutes, and a 0.06-inch corner radius, making it well-suited for producing smooth, consistent corner profiles in high-strength workpiece materials. The tool carries a TiN coating, runs with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction, and is built to a micrograin carbide grade for edge retention under high-load conditions. Close pitch and a variable index geometry help control vibration during finishing cuts. This is a single-end tool intended for use in end mill holders.
The SGS 77207 is engineered for finishing work in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits typical CNC machining center applications where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required on corner radii. The long-length designation and 2-inch length of cut accommodate deeper axial engagements without tool changes. A chipbreaker geometry supports chip evacuation in difficult-to-machine alloys. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, aerospace, and general metalworking environments will find this tool appropriate for high-precision contouring and profiling passes.
Designed for use with end mill holders accepting a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary application in hard materials. Part of the SGS Series 77C long-length corner radius end mill line.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank to the specified clamping torque for the end mill holder in use and verify runout before cutting. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the workpiece. Do not use this tool for centercutting plunge operations, as it is not centercutting.
