The SGS 77201 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series 77C specifications, it features a 1/2 inch diameter, 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius with a tight tolerance of +0.00000 to -0.00200 inches. The 7-flute, close-pitch configuration supports efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality on difficult materials. A TM coating and micrograin carbide substrate extend tool life in abrasive and high-strength workpiece materials. This end mill is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC milling centers and manual mills.
The SGS 77201 is suited for finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its single-end, right-hand cutting, right-hand flute geometry with a 37-degree high helix angle makes it appropriate for applications requiring tight dimensional control and smooth surface finishes. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard end mill toolholders. The long flute length supports deep-cavity milling and extended-reach finishing scenarios where standard-length tooling is insufficient.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance is compatible with collet chucks, hydraulic toolholders, and shrink-fit holders accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the minimum insertion depth specified by the toolholder manufacturer to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Do not use this end mill for centercutting or plunge operations, as it is not a centercutting design.
