The SGS 77105 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, 7 flutes, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life in harder workpiece materials. At 5/8 inch length of cut and 2.5 inches overall length with a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank, this tool fits standard end mill holders. The TiN coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard. This tool is intended for machinists, toolroom professionals, and CNC operators working in production or job shop environments.
The SGS 77105 is engineered for finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its close pitch, 7-flute geometry and variable index design support improved surface finish and reduced chatter at higher feed rates. The high helix style aids chip evacuation when working ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys. It is used in vertical machining centers and CNC mills where a 1/4 inch shank end mill holder is specified. It is classified as a standard length tool, suitable for most benchtop and production CNC setups without extended reach requirements.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium; secondary application covers hard materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully powered down and in a locked-out state before tool changes. Seat the shank fully into the end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout at the tool tip before beginning any cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material grade.
