The SGS 66667 is a taper length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in a wide range of materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with Ti-NAMITE-X (TX), it delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in demanding applications. The 135-degree split point reduces thrust and improves self-centering on entry without a center punch. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 8xD, a 95 mm flute length, and a 4-31/64 inch overall length, this bit is suited for deeper holes than standard-length drills. A web-thinned geometry reduces cutting forces and chip packing. Installed by machinists and tool room professionals in CNC and manual drilling operations.
The SGS 66667 Series 142P is designed for universal material application, including steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. It fits standard cylindrical straight-shank tool holders and collet chucks common in machining centers and drill presses. The coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the tip, making it effective in deep-hole applications where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. It conforms to DIN 6537 specification, which is the recognized standard for carbide drill geometry in industrial metalworking environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production drill bit compatible with standard straight cylindrical shank tool holders, collets, and drill chucks rated for the 9.1 mm shank diameter. Material application is rated as universal per manufacturer specification.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side-loading or interrupted cuts that could cause chipping or fracture. Verify coolant lines are clear and flow is confirmed before beginning deep-hole drilling cycles.
